The first users of timekeepers were astronomers who were responsible for the most significant inventions: the pendulum clock and the watch balance spring. When Frederique and Constant met the first time, they knew it would be the beginning of a long and rewarding relationship. The Frederique-Constant marriage proved to be a very successful and productive one. Frederique Constant has been created from two names: Frederique = Frederique Schreiner, 1881-1969 Constant = Constant Stas, 1880-1967. The current Managing Director of Frederique Constant S.A., Peter Stas, is the 4th generation descendent of Mr. Constant Stas.
