That Wolfgang Steinkrüger was fascinated with the night sky is quite obvious when one examines the Sothis collection of elegant and distinctive chronographs. Long given to contemplating the relationship between the course of the stars, Canis Major in particular, and the course of the Earth, the designer behind Sothis adopted the constellation as an early trademark of his timepieces. Originating in Bielefeld, a town in the Teutobruger Forest of Germany, Steinkrüger named his collection after the Egyptian goddess of the Dog Star, Sothis.
 All of the Sothis collection timepieces are multi-function, feature mechanical movements with automatic winding and are water-resistant to 5 atm. However, two models represent the soul of the Sothis collection - the Chronograph Stardust and the Chronograph Spirit of the Moon. The Chronograph Stardust's functions include hours, minutes, seconds, calendar (day-date) and chronograph. Its features include a steel case with satin-finished body and polished bezel, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and an engraved image of Canis Major on its elegant black dial.
The Chronograph Spirit of the Moon (and its slightly smaller sister model, the Quantieme Spirit of the Moon) feature the same case details but a wider array of functions that include hours, minutes, seconds, calendar (day-date-month-moon phase) and chronograph. The dial of the Spirit of the Moon (black for the Chronograph model and white for the Quantieme) has elegant Roman numeral markings.
